With the introduction of robotic surgery into endocrine surgery it has become possible to perform thyroidectomy via axillary approach without an incision and scar in the neck. The first two patients who underwent unilateral total thyroidectomy using da Vinci^® surgical system are presented in this study. With appropriate case selection, robotic axillary thyroidectomy is an alternative to endoscopic thyroidectomy.
